Child Locators

Have you ever been in the supermarket and seen a parent flipping out because they can’t find their child? Or maybe you yourself have been the victim of this occurrence. The stress and anxiety in these situations can be so overwhelming it can impede the ability to think clearly enough to even find your lost one. Child locators were invented to prevent exactly this type of scenario. Child locators can provide that peace of mind that all parents want with just the push of a button.

Child locators are great devices to use in many environments. They are especially useful in crowded places such as supermarket, amusement parks, fairs, playgrounds, airports and almost any other place imaginable.

What is a child locator? A child locator is pretty much just what is says. It is a handy device that allows you to keep tabs on your children. Constantly knowing the whereabouts of your children is one of the key steps to keeping them safe from any harm.

There are several different kinds of child locators available on the market today. There are also child gps locators which are slightly different. If you would like more information on child gps locators click here. As stated above there are several shapes sizes and models of child locators to choose from. One of the favorites available today for younger children is a teddy bear child locator. A small locator shaped like a cute little teddy bear is attached to the child. There are several ways that this can be attached.  It can be fastened to the shoe via the shoelace, a backpack, or even a belt. The parent and or parents carry the signal device that easily and comfortably fits on your key ring.  How this child locator works is that at any time if you cannot see your child you simply press the button on the locator which then sends a signal to the little bear and the bear starts beeping allowing you to locate where your child is by following the sound of the beep.

The signal for this particular type of child locator is good for roughly up to 150 ft. away. It is a good idea to keep in mind that if used indoors things such as walls, people and other things can significantly reduce the signal length. The teddy bear child locator beeps and or chirps at a volume of 86db. This volume level is about the level of a normal alarm clock.  It is loud enough for the parent and or parents to hear but not so loud as to damage the precious hearing of your child.

The age and activity of your child will play a key role in your decision of deciding which child locator is right for you and your child. Price range as well may play a factor. There are some other different child locators that have slightly more functionality that the teddy bear child locator stated above.  There are units available that use a wristband as the tagging device instead of a teddy bear.  Let’s face it,  if your child is anywhere over 5 or 6, he or she is going to be less inclined to have a teddy bear hanging from their shoes.  The wristband style of child locator also allows for the tracking of up to four wristbands at one time.  This is especially useful if you have multiple children or are taking someone else’s kids out for a play date. With this particular type of child locator it is possible to adjust the range at which the monitor alarm goes off. Once the child has exceeded the monitoring range the alarm goes off letting you know that the child has wandered out of the designated area. Simply press the “find” button which sounds the alarm on the wristband allowing you to locate the lost child. There is also a tampering alarm installed.  If the child or a predator attempts to remove the wristband an alarm goes off both on the parents side of the monitor as well as in the wristband itself.  A little added security for that extra peace of mind.

Other than just keeping a watchful eye on your children,  the child locator can also be used for many other purposes. Teaching your children to consider the beeping of the locator as a warning can serve as a very helpful tool for warning them of danger. For instance if your child is about to cross a street into heavy traffic and the parent is not close enough to grab his or her child the parent could sound the alarm getting the attention of the child before he or she does themselves any bodily damage. The child locator has many purposeful uses and for the price that they are selling for it would be unreasonable to consider not buying one. After all children your children are your most prized possession.
